My bad, Skor, since I've disassociated myself from Facebook I don't get reminders of friends birthdays, so - please, forgive me for the belated "Happy Birthday to You", if it's your birthday, that is - ?

Thanks. We went to my favorite restaurant for my birthday, that was good. But I'm not in a very good place these days. The not walking thing is really getting to me. I saw the doctor, and the first apt. I could get for the orthopedic specialist is Aug.That means that I will be like this for another yea. I am not in  job that has any benefits, if I don't work then no money. I feel like someone else, not me. It sucks, sorry to whine so much.

OceanFlower

Don't be silly these are genuine concerns.. okay I'm still confused.. if you don't have bennies what about this health care thing? or social security disability? medicare? i'm not too hip when it comes to these things and i should be considering my age but i'd give social security disability a try if they say no keep trying; a doctor once told me it takes three tries and he was right on the third try i got approved.. you can do it online too... back in my day i had to fill out10,000 forms and mail them in and wait and wait and wait... so hang in there! we love you!   :-*

skor

Oh I have private health insurance, it costs over a third of my take home pay, but I have it. The reason I have to wait is because I may be a candidate for an alternative treatment. It's OK. I am going to PT, chiropractor and taking NSAIDs, so I will get through. My ood has lifted since I wrote that, some days are tough, that's all.

It was 4 years ago today that JFC first aired!

OceanFlower

I know i'm in the same boat... they take a hunk of $$ out of my check then when i go to the doctor gotta pay a co-pay & god forbid you go to a specialist cause that's twice the price and then i still get these huge bills in the mail cause the uhc won't pay... when the revolution comes first we hang all the med ins providers and maybe a few doctors too!

Not usually being bloodthirsty I got to agree, Flower, when I've read that United Healthcare paid its CEO $102 million in compensation last year. Just for one year, isn't it a sweet deal! The premiums were increased by 16-19%, it's happening everywhere, the same with co-pays.

Skor, good physical therapist can do wonders. Good luck!

and where I'm at you get one choice period sorta like North Korea... when the kids at work cry whine and moan about their place of employment I always tell them.. Dear children corporate Amerika is not a democracy... & while we're at it did youse guys see this:

About 510 employees in the Space Exploration division have received 60-day advance layoff notices (from Boeing)

so wow we're do you go from there?  considering what a smashing success our space exploration program has been
I'm sure by 2020 they'll all be speaking Chinese on Mars right??  ::)

Is anyone going to watch "Falling Skies"?  One more dystopia/survivalist boot camp/frontier show. The aliens look kinda like in Mr.Shyamalan  "Signs", but I'll give it a try.

I saw "X-men First Class" over the weekend - clean, well composed fun, lots of fresh faces, I enjoyed it.

Hey, Flower, have you been watching "Game of Thrones"? I got to admit it grew on me, there are some interesting characters (the dwarf and the tomboy princess for one),  though if not the slowly revealed threat of the imminent attack from some strange malevolent phenomena and the presence of mystical elements (the cutest baby dragons, really!) I would've lost interest, as the court intrigues are very boring in themselves, murder and mayhem for just a few years in power.  I will wait for the second season.

There is a remake of "Teen Wolf" on MTV, some say it's interesting. "Weeds" coming up soon, then "Breaking Bad". Anyone can recommend  good new TV shows, please?

Hi, Flower, my one and only companion on these pages! "Kill the Irishman" is in my queue, under "long wait" freaking category. Waited almost two months for "Fighter", they finally sent a DVD that was scratched so bad, it skipped through the quarter of the film. I saw couple places I know in Lowell, where it was shot, remember seeing them on the way to or from the local theater to which we hold season tickets. I was told Mike Ward can be seen there in bars - redhead shorty.
The style of pseudo-documentary is wonderful, Christian Bale deserved two Oscars for the portrayal of Dicky in my opinion, should've gotten one more, the Portman's!

Am waiting for "Bloodworth" next, hopefully soon.  I got curious about the "Sundance" favorite "Martha Marcy May Marlene" with John Hawke (Sol Star in "Deadwood") as a cult leader, it will be shown in October.
Saw "Super 8" - such a regurgitated stuff, lots of boom-booms and CG effects, all to build the tension that results in absolute nothing - a ridiculous scarecrow of an alien. Worshiping your childhood idols - in this case it's Spielberg and ET - never ends well!

Although summer, even with its dreary rain for days is better than anything on the screen! See you there, wherever you are - get away from your cubicle!

Head body head!  :D some interesting dynamics behind that film per an article i read in Mens Journal basically Dicky kinda ripped Micky off a little on the story & the movie rights... plus somewhere in there between the filming and the release of the production Dicky got busted for manslaughter... there was a barroom brawl some fists were thrown and some guy went down for the final count.. turns out his 20 something year old nephew took the fall for that... wow that's a shame about the condition of the disc i hope netflix gave you a freebie behind that! Lowell huh? being the home of Jack Kerouac who then lived in my hometown of Northport during the early 60s where i got to drink beer once with the King of the Beatniks... connections babe connections!! I was looking at redbox yesterday sheesh what crap! I use netflix for all the foreign flicks and old flicks you can't get anywhere else... this weekend Get Carter with Michael Caine circa 1971... also have Mesrine Pt 2 qued up .... Kill the Irishman is good well worth the wait... my man Vincent D'Onofrio has still got it! last weekend of OT & project ends  June 30 so i may get to go outside again sometime soon! but i got my eyes set on San Francisco this July so its all worth it
Shaka! Peace and Stay Free!!  :-*

Hey where'd everybody go?? anybody alive out there?? now I'm reading Let the Right One In and only a few pages into the book and I'm already memerized by it... and it never fails... I reserved two books from the interlibrary loan system and of course they both come in at the same time! older books one being the bio of Keith Richards by Victor Bockris and having just read Keef's own memoir it is of course familiar territory but Bockris uses a lot of quotes from all the major players and then some so that makes it all the more interesting; the second which i find much more interesting is Robert Greenfield's book covering the Rolling Stones 1972 STP Tour which is written in a kind of Tom Wolfe/Hunter S Thompson style... jesus how'd i miss that? oh yeah i was bumming around the country then... wound up sitting on the nudie beach in Santa Barbara with this little artist girl i met that's how i missed that! sigh! for god's sake somebody tune in let me know you're alive eh??  ;)

July 2: wow saw two flicks on Friday one good one excellent! As part of a prize our team won for meeting over 98% service levels we all got to go to the movies courtesy of the company... I'm dumb as a fox I guess and picked Friday to go see Bad Teacher with a few workmates and my Director who of course is young enough to be my daughter.. nevertheless Cameron Diaz plays the part very well but I'd wait til it comes out on DVD... yep cursing crude sexual jokes bare titties drug use and the car washing scene alone is worth the price of admission! (Well for a overly sexed senior citizen like myself anyway!) OK now the serious stuff: Barney's Version which is on DVD at Redbox... what a film... Paul Giamatti is absolutely excellent and Bruce Greenwood has a small part as well... I'm almost ashamed to say I saw myself in Paul's character "Barney" Dustin Hoffman puts in a great performance as well... all in all three thumbs up! OK now where the hell is everybody!!??   ::)
