Two strong women both from NYC! Me? I'm going for the bracelet! I'm a regular Monster, yeah! Can't help it I was Born This Way!

Not very reliable women, besides why buy anything? Come on, Flower, plastic bracelets are hideous.
I think Unicef is a good intermediary.

I will never forget schoolchildren that were filmed for Soviet TV - dressed in their best, carrying fresh bouquets in the streets of Chernobyl, a day or two after the meltdown. The reactor was not in the picture, the fire and the tragic effects of radiation weren't acknowledged.
Those children will never have their own children.

sheesh what a grouch!  :D

I said take your pick!
meaning whatever you feel comfy with darling
IDK the Lance Armstrong wristbands were successful
and talk about unreliable? you trust the UN?
man i'd trust Gaga or Yoko before I'd trust
them any day of the week!
why buy anything? hmmm good question but look at it this way: 80 million little monster teenyboppers will probably send in their babysitting and lawn mowing money to get one of these it all adds up!

at least these two women are doing something so why fault them for that? down here in the flatlands all these people can think about is basketball some of these yokels didn't even know there was an earthquake or tsunami or nuclear meltdown! so anybody
who can make the effort to help the people of Japan are tops in my book whether its Yoko or Gaga or whoever --so lets not quibble and quarrel over trivialities okay sister?
Peace and Stay Free!   :-*
PS btw did you look at the wristband? i thought it was kinda cool: red and white the national colors of Japan with Pray for Japan in English and Japanese!  ;D

Flower, are you sure you don't want to change jobs? You're a born salesman, my friend! A "Marketing 101" course at your community college and you'd be an employee of the month next month! :)

I'm still not buying, Flower. Great Pacific Garbage Patch, 38N 145W - that's coordinates of the island of waste and rubbish in the ocean, now the size of Texas,  and there're some bracelets floating, see?

Oh, maybe I would've...... if I were a teenybopper!

However, any help coming would be good, Japanese are suffering, let's not bicker any longer.

Pleasure talkin' to ya! :-*

why TYVM dear sister Svennie!
oh make no mistake i've elected myself watchdog
and as soon as these bracelets are sent out or
whatever i'll be tracking how much $$$ is made
and sent to the appropriate relief funds from
dear Lady Gaga speaking of which once you
get past the costumes and the glam she is
actually a very good song writer & approached
her music with a extreme caution but i actually
like alot of the songs plus she's a homegirl!
hmmm well as far as Garbage Island--how many
plastic water bottles pampers bic lighters & every
other kind of plastic container imaginable and goddess
knows what else... like Curtis said, if there's a hell below
we're all gonna go!   :P
Peace and Stay Free!

I had a very disturbing circumstance occur on Tuesday; we were having our weekly team meeting at work & toward the end of the meeting I posed the question if anyone knew of any efforts by either corporate or employees for raising relief funds for Japan. I was practically burned at the stake! My team lead in particular pontificated at great length how Japan was a "first world" country and didn't need our help no way no how. Now this is a guy that makes a big deal about saying grace over his lunch & is big conservative republican etc etc... but funny I don't remember reading where his man Jesus made any distinctions about 1st or 2nd or 3rd or 4th world countries when it came to charity? Fucking hypocrites. I hope they get to gag on those words while they're all rotting in hell!  >:(

Have a fucked St Paddys Day I say!

The guy you wished to burn in hell is not alone, here is another one.

But, Flower, without well thought organization all these crates and boxes with toilet paper and socks will be just clogging the airways and warehouses. I think there is some merit to the article.

Do no harm

OceanFlower

of course svennie but you can even find some merit in a pile of dog shit too!
to compare Haiti with Japan is like comparing Charlie Manson to the Dalai Lama meaning Haiti is probably one of the most corrupt places on the planet from top to bottom while the Japanese are masters of organization & accomplishment; Haiti=voodoo while Japan=zen samurai Godzilla Akira Kurasawa not to mention one of the all time best surf bands the Surf Coasters! LOL! but seriously i won't be sending any socks to Japan i can guarantee you that! As the subject line explains "take your pick" which i guess you could also interpret as don't pick anything at all. I personally have never been to Japan but I feel a great affinity with Japan because of my interest in zen since i was like 12 and fancied myself a beatnik, the samurai, one of my favorite poets Gary Snyder lived there in the 50s and wrote extensively on his experiences there in a zen monastery & once when i was a jr or sr in highschool a survivor of Hiroshima came to speak; she had been a little girl at the time and the heat of the blast basically melted one of her arms to her chest; it was held in the library very informal & got to speak with her for a little bit, me in my diddy bop clothes and Dion haircut long before the peace and love days... it was as you can see a memorable experience for me needless to say. Do I have problems with Japan? You bet I do! After viewing the flick The Cove I joined and donate to Save Japan Dolphins organization...nobody's perfect eh? I think what irks me is this kind of "Let George do it attitude" whereas I say Let Peace begin with me (even while I'm damning the tea party motherfuckers to burn in hell! LOL!) and as the HHDL says true religion is, Do no harm to anyone... ok I feel like I'm babbling now but you get the idea... and hey if anyone wants to send me socks that's cool i can always use an extra pair of white socks thank you! Peace and Stay Free!  :-*

BTW got an email from Lady Gaga the other day my wrist band is in the mail I'll keep you all update on the latest events!
OceanFlower

OceanFlower

got my WE PRAY FOR JAPAN wrist band from Lady Gaga in the mail yesterday and its quite sturdy maybe a half inch wide with the words written in both English and Japanese in red lettering with the white background of the band itself.. I don't know what i was thinking but you have to slip the band over your hand onto your wrist... now i'm no Mike Tyson but that was a tight fit to say the least & I supposed over time the band itself will stretch out after several times of taking it off and putting it on... I will wear it at work today and see if I get any comments at all on it... should be interesting as always right?

meanwhile, back at the ranch:

Don't let the band cut off circulation in your wrist,  take it off every 15 minutes. That'll keep you busy all workday and drive your boss up the wall! :D :D :
Lady Gaga,  wasn't she human few years ago? 8)   Jus'kiddin', man.

once its on my wrist its not tight at all its just getting up over & around my fist/hand that's the tight fit... but just a coupla things:

1. believe it or not a 60 year old lady who i hold very near and dear to my heart actually turned me on to Lady Gaga Katy Perry & Adele.. to name a few.. and i have to laugh cause this is the same lady who also turned me on to Coltrane Wayne Shorter Sun Ra Jackie McClean Taj Mahal to name but a few back in the day... and she admits its "bubble gum" music but she says she enjoys getting a full on shakti hit fast and loud first thing in the morning on the way to work.. of course being a total music freak I knew who Lady Gaga was and read an interview with her in RS & enjoyed her sense of humor and like i say she's a nice Italian girl from the east side so what's not to like... once you get past the outrageous costumes & what not I discovered she's quite a good songwriter & some of the lyrics to her "love songs" are dark moody sensual with just the right touch of violent passion.... or is it passionate violence? nevertheless I'd druther listen to a Gaga song over a "what's a Bieber" song any day of my existence! as far as the wrist band itself: it is quite sturdy & during the course of the day when i see it on my wrist it does remind me of what other people are suffering on a daily basis just to survive & makes me realize how skate i got it no matter how much i bitch and moan about my plight as a 17 year old trapped in a 64 year old man's body! LOL!

2. this same lady knows i have more than a passing interest in the sweet science of boxing (which kinda surprised her along with my long term love affair w/ the NY Mets) & happened to mention that there was a boxer in the Katy Perry video of Teenage Dream which if you haven't already should listen to the words of that song.. so i checked it out and lo and behold Katy is from Santa Barbara the city that I love! so now of course i'm in love with Katy! the first time Katy came into my field of vision was during the "California Girls" controversy last year... anyway i did a little investigating & it turns out the boxer in the video who Katy has the hots for is an actor by the name of Josh Kloss (?) i think who once starred in the tv series The OC & who also happens to be quite gay not that there's anything wrong with that! so great now it looks like i've been cruising gay porn sites! sigh! at any rate I watched the Teenage Dream video and sure enough it was shot in Santa Barbara and the road scene may have been filmed on San Marcos Pass aka Hwy 154 that runs thru the Santa Ynez valley right on the way to Michael Jackson's Neverland compound near Mt Figueroa where I used to go hiking... at work I happened to mention that the wrist band was kinda difficult getting on over my hand and some smart ass said That's because most of Lady Gaga's fans are little teenybopper girls... so I guess you might say I'm getting in touch with my inner teenybopper teenage girl... anybody got a problem wid dat?  :P

More than 158,000 people are still without electricity and 210,000 have no running water, although some of that is because of a 7.1-magnitude aftershock that rattled the area last week.

A 7.1 mag aftershock? that would be like a major quake here in the States! Wow!  ???
