Crystal Bowersox & Joe Cocker & Lee DeWyze (more or less) - With A Little Help From My Friends (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDRYxvUuGVo#ws)
John Robert "Joe" Cocker, OBE (born on 20 May 1944 in Sheffield, England) is an English rock/blues musician, composer and actor who came to popularity in the 1960s, and is most known for his gritty voice, his idiosyncratic arm movements while performing, and his cover versions of popular songs, particularly those of The Beatles. He is the recipient of several awards, including a 1983 Grammy Award for his song "Up Where We Belong", a duet which he performed with Jennifer Warnes. He was ranked #97 on Rolling Stone's 100 greatest singers list.

i hate the concept of karaoke.... i even hate the word... my original intent was to post specific songs for the advent of summertime... screw it!
Hey, Capt...
There was a thread here called "Summertime" where you were posting your videos. It was a great thread... I can't see it here now.
This thread was not the one you created. Let me see if I can figure out what happened to it...
Trishah
My apologies to Captain Peace.
I was trying to merge the music threads so as the old forgotten threads didn't disappear without a trace. That merging proved tricky, the software puts them in the chronological order, so the thread "Summertime" had disappeared and as a result, Captain Peace deleted his songs. That's all my fault, obviously, however the new thread is easy to start and Captain Peace is welcome to start as many as he wishes. It's a free reign place.
Once again, dear Captain Peace, I am sorry for ruining your "Summertime" thread. No hard feelings, I hope.
Summer is just starting and you know millions more songs, share them.
Sven.

Thanks, Ray, always good to listen to Bob Dylan. The "Together Through Life" album songs were all on YouTube" - not anymore. I swear they got a million employees to remove whatever original songs are still left. I'd say my favorite song of Dylan..... whew, that's hard!
Let's have everyone's favorite Dylan song posted here, eh? Or three, the man deserves more than one.
In some contradiction to Simon&Gurfunkel image here's the song not too melancholic. Maybe it is melancholic, I don't know.

Sheryl Crow - The First Cut Is The Deepest (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iBcAW63YWyk#ws)

Jimi Hendrix - The Star Spangled Banner (Woodstock '69) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1J5rEVB-dE#)
I once read an interview w/ Jimi when he was asked where he got his "sound". He was of course a paratrooper with the Screaming Eagles for a short time and he replied that the sound he was trying to replicate was the wind whistling thru his ears when he jumped out of a plane.
Interview with Jimi Hendrix on Star-Spangled Banner (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-ZYUaRKQkk&NR=1#)
Going along with that Yoko Ono once said that the sound she was trying to achieve in her music was the sound of falling bombs from the American air force over Japan during WW2.

Zippy, I learned about "Black Keys" from you, thanks, I like the band.
Here's one of the covers to their "All You Ever Wanted", I was saving it for a scene for Further Days but, alas! writing it feels more and more impossible as days go by. I like the different tempo than the original.

Rhapsody In Blue - King of Jazz - Paul Whiteman - George Gershwin (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oadzppD9Rv8#)
Here's an abridged version of the George Gershwin masterpiece composed for Paul Whiteman in 1924, from this 1930 2-strip Technicolor revue film.
"The segment opens with a completely unrelated "Voodoo Dance" from Africa (?), followed by the opening clarinet solo danced by Jacques Cartier, and then Roy Bargy playing the piano solo.
"Danced by Russell Markert Girls and Sisters G.
"King of Jazz" was the first motion picture to use a pre-recorded soundtrack made independently of the actual filming. Whiteman insisted that the entire soundtrack be pre-recorded in order to obtain the best sound, avoiding the poor recording conditions and extraneous noises found in a movie studio. Universal opposed the idea, but Whiteman insisted and prevailed over the reluctant studio executives. After the sound was recorded, the scene was filmed. Later, the film was synchronized to the soundtrack. This allowed the movie to be directed in the same manner as a silent film, with resulting sounds not affecting the completed film.

Just catching up on evryone's posts and was reading Sven's Angel poem.
I have been hearing this song a lot lately and was thinking that Robert Plant (or whoever wrote it) must have been inspired by Michaelangelo or at the very least those cute little cherub statues. This song sounds (to me) like it could have been a track on Zeppelin 3.

I know it's December, why not July!
The Raveonettes - Red Tan - Roskilde 2005 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSBiWPTpoac#)
The first time I heard this song I thought it would become a classic and it has....Barenaked Ladies...another odd band name but great song to kick off the Holidays
Barenaked Ladies - "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen/We Three Kings" [audio] (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGVNzgUxE-g#)
You know, Mz.Lily, it still surprises me - why's that instead of nice bare-naked ladies we see those sturdy lumberjack men, huh? :D :D :D
Nice song though!
Good song from "The Safety of Objects"
Bullet - Relapse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKks7fZqVwg#)
The Spotnicks - Orange blossom special (1963) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dslZiF5vLEA#)

The Black Keys - Lonely Boy (First Listen) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a_426RiwST8#ws)
Wavewatcher, I think you introduced The Black Keys to the BB - thanks to you I now have an addiction to the band, listened to most of their albums.
Band of Horses too - it was you, was it not? Thanks again! :)
"Share and share alike", is that the correct quote?
Thought Skor Might like it - vacations, new semester and all that jazz!
Natalie Merchant - Verdi Cries. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pi83vlFpBns&feature=related#ws)
A worthy cover..
Dar Williams You Won't See Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbaVKUjcJbA#)
woke up today with the Beatles on the brain..like many other days
Pearl Jam - I've Got A Feeling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSqugzxhgpU#)
I watched a PBS documentary about some "Secrets" of Beatles the other night and beside "revelation" about Lennon's youthful sexapades and experiments and his first marriage having been kept in shadows to better market the quartet, there was nothing much. That however left me wondering, what does real, messy and troubled often as it happens, existence of an artist means afterwards - after poetry, or music, or a canvas are finished, the author expired and the public might not be interested in their personal travails? Is that even marginally significant - who did what in their earthly life.
The song is by an English band, strangely about Tijuana, why - who knows, have they visited the border city? Loved someone there? Is that just the name that's got their attention? Nice song though.
Gomez - Tijuana Lady (Live @ hmv Liverpool) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vwe2CIH2Y1I&feature=related#ws)
I believe that most true artists are always creating. The public attention to their private lives, while inevitable, is still a pathetic commentary about our society. The best way for the artist to counter this intrusion is to continue to create (and maybe hire some security :))
I am an avid GOMEZ fan for over a decade now. Sven, you should check out "Liquid Skin", their coolest album..IMHO.
Gomez-Revolutionary Kind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFK1e_ejUBs#)
You know a lot of good bands, Wavewatcher, post your picks more often, please, I think we got similar taste. Honestly, I don't buy any albums anymore, for as long as YouTube has most of the newest releases.
Found this song surfing cinema sites, it's from a French movie "House of Tolerance", that has eclectic and interesting soundtrack.
Lee Moses - Bad Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JaF6V54gDp8&feature=BFa&list=FLIYAbQM9bjLL0T9DncaSKRg&lf=mh_lolz#)
Etta James - I' ve Got Dreams To Remember (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5KZ7kbcOr8#ws)
One from the earlier album
LEONARD COHEN - Light As The Breeze (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rH53TbmjWdo&feature=BFa&list=HL1327204027&lf=mh_lolz#)
And one from his latest, don't want to say "last" - may there be more.
Leonard Cohen - Show Me The Place (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMwbU-IpNdA#)
Waiting For My Real life (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPKiofX7TXo&feature=related#)

Can't get this song out of my head...
Loretta Lynn & Jack White "Portland, Oregon" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuC_l3ymXhM#)
Yeah, this song is addictive, Wavewatcher! Thanks, ahahahaha.
Someone said this song is in the first episode of Luck, I'm not sure, though the song is very good by itself.
Gil Scott-Heron - 'Me And The Devil' (Official HD Video) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OET8SVAGELA#ws)
I just discovered this band, Howlin' Rain, they have a new CD, "Russian Wilds" that is very interesting. This song is from one of their older CDs, a slow and melancholic ballad you can listen to and forgive almost everyone and everything.
Howlin' Rain - "Hung Out In The Rain" (Official) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ylocn1p7xko&feature=related#)
Ahem, instrumental "On The Nature Of Daylight" was played in Ep4 of Luck in the racing scene, that's how I've found this song. Hope you'll like it as well.

For your listening pleasure this SciFi Pizza Friday...
Seals and Crofts Hummingbird (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5tq0ACqInk#)
One of the best from the great duo Seals and Crofts. Seals and Crofts are Jim Seals (born James Seals, October 17, 1941, Sidney, Texas) and Dash Crofts (born Darrell Crofts, August 14, 1940, Cisco, Texas). The soft rock duo was one of the most successful musical acts of the 1970s. They are best-known for their hits "Summer Breeze" and "Diamond Girl". Seals' younger brother, Dan Seals was also well known as one half of another successful soft rock band in the same time period, England Dan & John Ford Coley, as well as for his success as a country artist in the mid-1980s. The duo disbanded in 1980, and both members went on to become public advocates of the Bahá'í Faith. They reunited briefly from 1991-1992 and again in 2004, when they released their final album, Traces.
Castle in the Sand (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYAALMirj_M#)
Beautiful harmonies!
Seals and Crofts Summer Breeze (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD1VaCCMPBs#)
The classic... Makes me miss the 1970's
Deer Tick - Miss K (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMZt9ysPjO8#)
Nice, to both of ya, Trish and Watcher, the summer must be treating you well! Thanks for the tunes, in this heat one's brain gets to almost boiling. Now Manhattan in ice is traveling from Greenland, gawd, what's next on the agenda!
Hope you guys are staying cool.

A tragic day... Gloom hangs over this SciFi Pizza Friday... So, here's some Michael McDonald classics to bring a little pleasure to your night...
Michael McDonald - You Belong To Me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhnZdSU2OlY#)
I love the bass line in this... And the pictures the guy choose just makes me smile ;D
QuoteUploaded by dreamrealitysyndrome on Feb 5, 2009
Song wasn't up, so I thought I 'd see to it that it gets posted.
I didn't have any real clips to go with the song, so I threw in a bunch of Saab 900's ;-)
Patti LaBelle - On My Own ft. Michael McDonald (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsH63qJlIMM#)
The Man, Myth and legend in Michael McDonald sings with soul diva in Patti LaBelle back in 1986. A real klassic.
What A Fool Believes - Michael McDonald (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkDkMT4YTUU#)
Here is this week's SciFi Pizza Friday music from my UK friend, Juilan... This week it's 3 tunes from R&B artists Ashford & Simpson from the 1970's. Enjoy...Ashford & Simpson Have You Ever Tried It. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hyu5dJmekRE#)
Finally another great tune from the same 1973 album "Gimme Something Real" for you to enjoy for your Pizza with.
Ashford & Simpson wrote songs for many people before starting out together, they even wrote for Marvin Gaye.
Have a great sci-fi pizza weekend.
Ashford & Simpson - Anywhere (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8fxbtPzP2g#)
This song is a really nice track from the same 1973 album.
Ashford & Simpson Aint that good enough (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqaG3jTOx5g#ws)
I hope all is well in the life on the other side of Atlantis...
Time for the heavier type of R&B for you... This track was on their f1rst album entitled "Gimme Something Real" back in 1973. Nicholas Ashford died just last year (may his soul rest in peace).
Better late than never... Here are this week's SciFi Pizza Friday tunes from my friend Julian in the UK...
Ace -- How Long (1974) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n15gUwedNrM#)
I am sure you remember this classic tune by British band called Ace. This was among the first singles I bought while I was still at boarding school; brings great memories.
R & J STONE We Do It (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mI6-E0hB0z8#ws)
Another classic song by British husband-wife team Russell & Joanne Stone. I used to wear out the groove of this tune on my old vinyl.
Natalie Cole - This Will Be (An Everlasting Love) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lswB6q2t_6c#ws)
This was a classic back in 1975 on the international club scene performed by Nat King Cole's daughter; I am sure you used to wear out your high heels dancing away to this tune back then. I was still at school hearing this song on Soul radio shows.
Have a wonderful Sci-Fi pizza weekend.
Wow, lots of good music, thanks, Trishah.
I don't get to the computer much lately since getting Samsung latest Galaxy, unfortunately our BB is not suited for mobile use. Feels like returning to the forgotten place - you noticed the ceilings lower, the peeling walls, and the whole place smells different, if you know what I mean - eve returned somewhere you haven't been for a while?
Found just one new song that I liked, from a typical "chick-flick", feel good forgettable movie, so here it is. Seriously, forgot the title immediately. Oh, it back - "Loosies".
Please Believe Me, by: Hightide Blues (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6VMq8f4LXc#)
SciFi Pizza Friday - Music to Groove by.... More tunes from Julian in the UK....
Bloodstone--- Who Has The Last Laugh Now (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCIqdOcYqcQ#)
This also came out on the 1972 album "Natural High."
Charles Love is the second guy on the left and he is the lead (baritone) singer, the main songwriter and lead guitarist. Charles McCormick on the f1rst left is the one leading the (tenor) vocals.
Pure natural soul with very little electronics used. These guys are still alive and going strong into 2012.
BloodStone Mix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8_fhbS_nHnQ#ws)
I am going to take your mind to the deepest type of soul music there is as composed by legendary (and I mean legendary) gospel/soul-funk group "Bloodstone."
The f1rst 5 minutes is the track "Ran it to the Ground." The second half is the track "Never Let You Go." Both songs were on their f1rst album entitled "Natural High" released in 1972, but this group was formed in 1962 when they did music out of pleasure and not for money...
You most likely never heard this song, but this group had a strong influence on most R&B, Soul and Funk Bands formed back in the 1970s to the present.
See all them cars?! Did you have any one of them back in your heydays?! LOL.
Bloodstone - You're still a young man (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80bldIVT9vc#)
This is the Bloodstone live in Cleveland, Ohio a few years back.
The sound of this tune note for note is just as good as it was produced in the studio back in 1973 on the album entitled "Instant Love." Very few groups can do this live.
Charles Love is the man 2nd from left with Charles McCormick 2nd from right, both giving it their all together on the song "You're Still A Young Man."
Try catching Charles Love's jacket and his hat! LOL.
Gospel and Soul at its rawest!!!
This should infuse your pizza with plenty of soul this weekend.
There is a recent film about this singer, Sixto Rodriguez - "Searching for Sugar Man". Talented and shy, he never made it, not like some of his contemporaries, obnoxious, arrogant, or just lucky, who clawed and fought their way to limelight.
Strange fate... good music.
Rodriguez - Inner City Blues (Live on KEXP) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOVyjmJf3og#ws)
Rodriguez - Crucify Your Mind (1970) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVdWXqtk484#)
Hey Sven, thanks for the Rodriguez tunes! I saw him on the news this morning and thought it an amazing story... wow.
And now for my contribution this late summer SciFi Pizza Friday from my UK friend Julian...
I am sure, I've sent this one to you before. When I first heard this tune, I really thought it was by Hall & Oates. This was number 1 for about 32 weeks back in 1977. I am checking up on the Funk band Slave with only Mark Adams in the videos
http://youtu.be/Hn-enjcgV1o (http://youtu.be/Hn-enjcgV1o)
Remember this when you probably told your ex the words of this track, when it got "Hotter Than July in 1980? LOL.
I literally wore this track off, when I bought this album it back in 1980 that I had to buy another one of this album!
http://youtu.be/ISbkwLvrUDM (http://youtu.be/ISbkwLvrUDM)
I was only about 10 when I first heard this track and became a Stevie Wonder fan as a result. This album and his previous album started his classic period for the next 4 years... And certainly music ahead of its time.
http://youtu.be/cY2fz5RBgvQ (http://youtu.be/cY2fz5RBgvQ)
Another Friday Night music-fest...
Guilty - Barbra Streisand and Barry Gibb (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2YNeewo-CU#)
This one is a classic by the one and only Gospel singer Patti Austin... A duet with James Ingram on her 1982 album Every Home Should Have One.
Patti Austin & James Ingram ~ Baby come to me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSpwBVdBD6s#)
Surely, you must remember this tune...
just friends - Carol Bayer Sager featuring Michael Jackson (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gTxQ0F0Qcro#)
Some '70's retro from Julian in the UK for this SciFi Pizza Friday... enjoy ;D
"This one is from Joe Thomas (plays flute and saxophones) released in 1976. This tunes tells you exactly what you are doing tonite! That is "Galaxy Dreamin'."
Joe Thomas - Galaxy Dreamin' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fh_Y9yyIgPA#)
"Finally, this one will take you to 'Venus' for your Sci-Fi pizza mind trip. Again from the same 1976 album "Feelin's from Within." A real 'ahead of its time' gem and classic. "
Joe Thomas - Venus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZRCTtfNvzw#)
Sending you Jazz for a change! This Joe Thomas on flute on the same 1976 album "Feelin's from Within." This tune is timeless! I also like the bass flowing with the beat of this tune. Do not mix this Jazz artist Joe Thomas (born 1933) with today's R&B artist Joe Thomas (born 1973).
Coco - Joe Thomas (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OO8wFRPWDQ#)
Your weekly dose of SciFi Pizza Friday music videos from Julian:
This one came out in 1970, when you were still using the old typewriters. 42 years of technology passed by, you are using the Android technology. Sci-Fi turn reality. How's that for a change?
The Impressions-Times Have Changed (Leroy Hutson) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72uDcJmdZpI#)
Mellow as a cello... At the time of this film' release, I was still at boarding school. My older "music mad" sister had this soundtrack album 'Three The Hard Way' (a film starring Jim Brown, Jim Kelly and Fred Williamson) which had this track 'Wendy.' She played this tune almost everyday back then. Hope it mellows out the stress out of you for the weekend Sci-Fi treat!
"WENDY" BY IMPRESSIONS 1974 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i4OzTcGJSxQ#)
Another mellow as a cello tune. Again from the 1974 'Three The Hard Way' soundtrack album. I will be playing, relaxing and reminiscing to a lot of my old classical mellow tunes for the weekend.
"HAVING A BALL" BY THE IMPRESSIONS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y6cGqjvz7k#)
Greatly appreciated, Trishah, some beauties there!
Just got new Bob Dylan album, Tempest, didn't have time to listen yet. There are only pieces and covers on YouTube.
Bob Dylan - Duquesne Whistle (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mns9VeRguys#ws)
First Listen: Bob Dylan's Tempest (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8IBUNnmpec&feature=related#ws)
Here is a cover, kinda relevant to JFC, "Roll On, John", although.... it is for John Lennon.

Good Saturday to you all!
I went to sleep early last night before Julian sent the weekly music videos, so here is the SciFi Pizza Friday (Saturday :-) tunes...
One more time. This one came out in 1969.
Evil Ways ~ Santana (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tKIPuLfeKg#)
This was on the 1976 album called "Amigos."
He has plenty of soul his licks.
He is definitely one of my favourite guitarist, if not my favourite.
Enjoy...
Europa (Earth's Cry, Heaven's Smile), Santana (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBDLQZgntYE#)
A taste of the great Carlos Santana.
Well All Right ~ Santana (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Qd-rgNa8_Y#)
Another belated SciFi Pizza Friday music fest... But it's a real goove'in one!
"Oh What a Night". Same title, different song! This tune came out in 1959.
The Dells - Oh What a Night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jehvFHQb0uE#)
I am sure you know this tune.
December 1963(Oh What a Night!)-Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons-Lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFCddXngTLw#)
If you are tiring of me sending you these tunes, "Blame It On The Night!" This night tune is more up to date than the previous. This artist is actually a comedian by trade, but he is so very talented that he should have made it bigger than he did.
Finis Henderson - Blame It On The Night (1983) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BD_Sn2LlXpw#)
So long Andy...
Moon River - Andy Williams (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_jgIezosVA#)
It's a long and slow song, not for the impatient souls. I just found this band, "The Dears", don't even know who they are.
The Dears - Saviour (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAEkcDePeYo#)
Jake Bugg - Lightning Bolt - Official Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fY0oPg1h8fQ#ws)
Sorry for not posting on my SciFi Pizza Fridays the last 2 weeks, it's because Julian's computer was crashing and he had to rebuild it and get all his programs reinstalled! YUCK! He's almost done with it so hopefully this Friday we will have more good music to post :D
What - someone still REBUILDS their computer? What, from scratch?
Yeah, less vids per page might do the trick, it's terribly slow.
Julian's back! Yes, some of us still build our own computers ;) Here is this week's SciFi Pizza Friday tunes... Yippee!
I probably sent this to you once before, but I have to send it again.
The Chicago group was dubbed "First Family of Soul" because of their successful five-year chart run; the moniker was later passed on to The Jackson 5.
OOH CHILD by The Five Stairsteps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yrotsEzgEpg#)
This track "Sweet As A Peach" came out in 1970; same time and album as the previous track in "Ooh Child."
Hope this takes your groupies back to the good old early 1970s and blows their minds.
The 5 Stairsteps - Sweet As A Peach (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyDrWX64MV4#)
I was trying to find the classic tune "Up & Down" by the Five Stairsteps for you to enjoy...
This is former member of the Five Stairsteps Clarence Newton Burke doing great justice to Sly and the Family Stone's tune
Clarence Burke-Five Stairsteps-Somebody's Watching You-Sly and The Family Stone (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SYL-wPmIYU#ws)
Goovin' Tunes for this SciFi Pizza Friday...
Again from the one and only family of Soul. This one came out in 1969.
The five stairsteps - Danger she's a stranger (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mIKe5m5bUE#)
This came out as a single in 1966, it was written by the legendary Curtis Mayfield on behalf of the Stairsteps.
Have a wonderful Sci-Fi weekend.
The Five Stairsteps - Dont Waste Your Time - Raresoulie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROkPw8y0S6Q#ws)
Never heard of them, thanks, Trishah. That reminds me - here's a song with the same title - "Never Heard of Dylan". C'mon, is there anyone, who never ever.....?
The Finest Hour - Never Heard Of Dylan (Radio Edit) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2ef-ZfC3a0#ws)
Ahh... Another SciFi Pizza Friday tune fest from Julian :D
This album came out in 1975 (Moonlight Serenade). A brilliant self taught pianist in the Bossa Nova mold.
Eumir Deodato - Moonligth Serenate (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBZY6urezxQ#)
This tune is called "West 42nd Street" from the same 1975 album 'Moonlight Serenade'. Sounds like a film score, but I just love the rhythm.
Eumir Deodato West 42nd Street (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1rFelwdJ1g#)
This track is "Havana Strut." This is still from the same 1975 album "Whirlwinds."
Eumir Deodato is an xtra-ordinary producer who has written tracks for the likes of Kool & The Gang.
Deodato - Havana Strut (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REG_6Dh6ngI#ws)
A day late for my posting these but I'm also a day late for my pizza so I'm having a SciFi Pizza SATURDAY instead :D More good tunes from Julian...
You know this track... All the members of this group all passed away except the middle singer of the backing vocals (in dark blue suit - Abdul "Duke" Fakir).
"Reach out" to your loved ones during Post-Hurricane Sandy.
the four tops - reach out i'll be there.mpg (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PC4DKNfR0b4#)
By the Four Tops on the 1974 album "Meeting Of The Minds" which is a very good album.
Just listen to the message... It's appropriate to those experiencing the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
FOUR TOPS Right on Brother 70s Soul (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJBHUA2XcfA#)
Some cool tunes from Julian... Whoo hoo!
I send you three great tracks all from Tavares' 1975 album entitled "In The City." This track "Nothing You Can Do" is lively.
Tavares - Nothing You Can Do (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O9ChS8dDzp8#)
From the same 1975 album "In The City." This track was a real chart topper! You was dancin' to this tune in the disco clubs; while I was still absorbing my algebra lessons at school.
IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE - TAVARES (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUSfPso4AJw#)
This is from the same 1975 album. This was a real classic in its time.
Classic Slow Jam Tavares - The Love I Never Had (1976) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ENwOfNbbT8&feature=em-share_video_user#)
Another great set of tunes from Julian for the SciFi Pizza Friday..
Check this one by the band Bread featuring David Gates, one of my all time favourite songs from the "mellow rock" genre :
Make It With You (1970)
Bread Make It With You Lyrics (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=riBsOHkApmU#)
"Baby, I'm A Want You" is just fine.

Today is the 20th anniversary since Joe Strummer death. If you ain't thinkin' about man and God and law, then you ain't thinkin' about nothin'.
We didn't have any solution to the world's problems. I mean, we were trying to grow up in a socialist way to some future where the world might be less of a miserable place than it is.
The future is unwritten.
Too many wars.
Too many dead.
